Product overview

Unifin Bridge CSD is the UniFin platform integration portal for market operators and central securities depositories. It manages inter-depository links and cross-border participation.

The portal connects the local depository with partner depositories and manages the link end to end. The passport and the SLA, nominee and omnibus accounts, inter-depository messages, mirror positions and daily reconciliation.

Corporate actions, pledges and disclosures run through the nominee chain without manual bridges. Entitlements are calculated from the sub-register, and every disclosure keeps its legal basis and a journal record.

A new link is connected from a repeatable template: formats and calendars are set by adapters, checks run before posting. A break opens a case with a resolution deadline.

The solution operates standalone or as part of the UniFin platform and connects to partner depositories through API. File and SWIFT-compatible channels, without changes to the core or the partners' legacy systems.

What it delivers

What the solution delivers

Link registry

Link passports usually live in documents and in memory, and a pause is discovered through a failure. The solution keeps the passport of every link: partner, formats, calendar and SLA. With the solution it is visible which links work, which are paused and why. In setup profile versions and the change history are visible, and new links come as reference data.

Accounts and sub-registry

The sub-registry of end holders is usually kept in spreadsheets, and the link to nominee accounts gets lost. The solution runs nominee and omnibus accounts with mapping to partner accounts and the sub-registry. With the solution holder requests are answered without pulling archives. In setup the change history is visible on every account, and the mapping rules are set in configuration.

Messages and instructions

Inter-depository messages are usually handled by hand, and a format error surfaces before the day close. The solution runs incoming and outgoing messages with checks before posting and replay. With the solution the day closes without untangling a message queue. In setup statuses, errors and rejection reasons are visible, and the formats are configured per segment.

Position reconciliation

Reconciliation is usually done by letters once a period, and a break piles up for weeks. The solution reconciles mirror positions per link daily. With the solution a break surfaces the same day, and quarterly gaps are not explained away. In setup the matching rules and the case journal come as reference data.

Actions and pledges

Coupons and pledges are usually run between depositories by letters, and deadlines get lost. The solution runs announcements, votes, coupons and payouts, pledges and collateral substitution. With the solution events and collateral are serviced on time. In setup the history of every operation and its release are visible. The rules are part of the configuration.

Disclosures and compliance

Disclosures are usually made by hand, and the basis is reconstructed from e-mail. The solution discloses data by configurable rules and records the basis. With the solution compliance reviews pass without pulling archives. In setup it is visible who received what and on which basis, and the disclosure rules are set in configuration.

Reporting and SLA

Reconciliation and regulatory reports are usually assembled by hand from different sources. The solution builds the reports from one source and keeps availability metrics per link. With the solution the regulator gets venue figures, and the quality of links is visible. In setup incidents and the review log are visible, and the schedules are set in configuration.

Coverage

What it covers

External roles stay external: the CSD holds assets, the bank money.

Link registry and access

Link passports, participant onboarding: application, documents, checks and access.

Message journal

One entry point for inter-depository messages: formats, statuses, queue, errors and replay.

Reconciliation

Daily mirror-position reconciliation, automatic repair and break cases with deadlines.

Corporate actions

Announcements, voting, coupons and payouts with rights calculated from the sub-registry.

Pledges and blocks

Pledge and trading block: securities stay on the account, access opens.

SLA and incidents

Availability and latency per link, trends, incidents and the review log.

Reporting and disclosures

Reconciliation and regulatory reports, disclosure rules and the record of grants.

How it works

From a partner message to a report in five steps

The path of a message: intake, checks, posting, reconciliation and reporting.

  1. 1

    The message arrives

A message comes through the partner channel; the format converts.

  2. 2

    Checks run before posting

The suite validates the account; failures become a case.

  3. 3

    Positions move

Rights move on the accounts; every movement leaves a journal record.

  4. 4

    Reconciliation closes the day

Positions reconcile per link; simple breaks repair automatically.

  5. 5

    Reports and disclosures

Reconciliation reports assemble from one source; disclosures are recorded.

Industries

Industries it serves

The suite works for market operators and central depositories, brokers, banks, custodians and registrars: everyone who operates through inter-depository links.

Exchange / venue

Trading, supervision, market data and post-trade on one governed core, launched by configuration.

Broker / investment firm

Client access and risk control on the same rails as the venue: terminals, mobile and pre-trade limits.

Bank / payments

Settlement, payments and custody services for the market around the trading core.

CSD / depository

Custody, corporate actions and settlement discipline for classic and digital assets.

Architecture

Architecture and access

A ready platform plus customisation for your depository: adapters, formats and rules are configured, not rebuilt.

Ready base from day one

The UniFin platform and the integration microservices work from the start; there is no clean-slate build.

Customisation as configuration

Adapters, message formats, rules and connectors are tailored to your landscape and rulebooks.

Single sign-on and audit

Identity, roles and the audit journal are platform services; every action has a role and a record.

Source code as an option

Source code and documentation handover is an option with a fee for the production stage.

AI layer

The AI layer groups reconciliation breaks and drafts case notes; people approve every step.

Technology stack

Runtime and backend: Java 21 (LTS), Spring Boot 3.5.16, Spring Cloud 2025.0.3, Gradle, Flyway 10.15.

Data: PostgreSQL 17 per service, Redis 7 with Sentinel, RabbitMQ 3.13 quorum queues, transactional outbox and DLQ replay.

Portals: Next.js 16.3.3, React 19, TypeScript 5; OpenTelemetry 1.31 to Jaeger.

Delivery: Kubernetes and Helm, Vault secrets, Prometheus and Grafana, Docker Compose for pilots.

Visualisation: Apache Superset 4 and ECharts 5 for dashboards and charts, Grafana for operations panels, Mermaid for documentation schemes and the portal diagrams.

Message map

  • Message types of inter-depository links: settlement instructions, corporate actions, queries, notifications.
  • Format conversion with validation profiles per partner and per message family.
  • Reprocessing rules: replay is safe, a duplicate never posts twice.
  • Fail-closed states: unknown message states stop and surface, they never silently pass.

Operations discipline

  • Break classes with owners and deadlines; aging analytics per link and per class.
  • Calendar and cut-off control for each partner, including holiday handling.
  • Incident and SLA register with escalation to the rulebook of the market.
  • Four-eyes on link changes, disclosure rules and manual repairs.

Delivery frame

  • Pilot covers one link end to end; the platform base and integration services arrive ready.
  • Customisation as configuration: adapters, formats and rules, not a rebuild.
  • Migration of open positions and live instructions with an agreed reconciliation window.
  • Source code handover as an option with a separate fee: code, documentation and a runbook for your operations team.

Architecture

  • Built from the platform core: depository-ms, ca-ms, settlement-ms and the message adapters.
  • The suite works through platform contracts: one register of record, no shadow copies of the data.
  • Scaling adds nodes, not rewrites: stateful services grow with Patroni, RabbitMQ and Redis clusters.

Integrations and access

  • OpenAPI for every service: 978 documented endpoints behind 126 gateway routes, plus webhooks and SFTP where partners need files.
  • Single sign-on: Keycloak 26.1, OIDC and JWT, roles, MFA and API keys with quotas.
  • Evidence by default: the audit journal, idempotency keys on writes and a record for every disclosure.
